Survey on Postural Deformities of High School Students in Kannur District

Abstract

The researcher conducted a study on postural deformities of high school students in Kannur district. A total of 600 (three hundred boys and three hundred girls) were selected from various schools in Kannur district Kerala, and the age group of the subject ranged from 13-15 years. The New York posture rating test were used to assess the postural deformities. Based on the findings of this study, postural deformities are prevalent in high school students in kannur district and also there is a significant difference between girls and boys on anterior posterior head deviation, ankle deviation, foot arch and lateral lower back deviation, anterior posterior spine deviation, anterior posterior hip deviation, lateral head deviation, lateral chest deviation, lateral shoulder deviation, lateral upper back deviation, lateral trunk deviation and lateral abdomen deviation.
